Yulia Shtareva, PsyD

I offer therapy and personality testing, using a holistic, trauma-focused and evidence-based approach.

I treat mental health concerns such as low self-esteem, emotional pain, psychological rigidity (“stuckness”), avoidance, low motivation and quality-of-life impairment due to childhood trauma, ADHD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

My goal is to help clients discover a life beyond their distressing behaviors, confusing relationships, unwanted memories, shame, burnout, chronic stress, sleep problems, substance use, and poor coping skills. I use the art and science of EMDR, psychoanalytic/dynamic therapy, exposure therapy, parts-work (including IFS), CBT, and DBT. Clients also recieve support and education on non-psychological resources and interventions impacting their mental health, which they are guided to explore with their primary care doctors and other specialists.

My therapy style has been described by supervisors, colleagues, and patients as, “relational”, “caring”, “thorough”, and “scientific”. My goal with clients is to empower them to improve their emotional and physical health so that they may feel satisfied in their personal life and relational experiences. I enjoy teaching skills and discovering practical solutions that will help you beyond the therapy room. I love data and incorporate brief and/or comprehensive psychological evaluations whenever possible to clarify my treatment plan to be most effective.
