Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. Therapy can be an incredibly helpful space to learn about yourself, find greater fulfillment, and experience more autonomy and peace in your life. It can also be challenging. As a therapist, my goal is to offer a supportive, caring, and gently challenging environment to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s crossroads and obstacles, and celebrate moments of growth, success, and joy.
My clients often describe me as warm, curious, and direct. Seeking out therapy can feel overwhelming, and finding the right therapist can often feel just as daunting! During our early work together, our main priority is getting to know one another to see if we are the right fit. Research consistently shows that the relational fit between therapist and client is the single strongest influencing factor of positive outcomes in treatment. Because of this, creating a strong, collaborative connection is at the heart of everything I do.
My approach focuses on helping you better understand yourself: your relational patterns, your coping mechanisms, and the underlying reasons behind how you navigate the world. We are all products of our experiences, identities, and histories, and much of how we operate happens outside our conscious awareness; by bringing these patterns into light, we can explore questions like “Why do I keep falling into this pattern?” or “How can I get un-stuck?” We often hold onto certain behaviors for good reason — we needed them for survival or self-protection. But when those strategies become too rigid or unhelpful, understanding them allows for true, lasting change. My goal is to support you in creating a life that feels authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with who you are. Oftentimes, clients come to therapy because they are in acute distress; alongside focusing on these strategies for long-term change, I incorporate concrete tools and strategies to help manage symptoms and bring timely relief.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from George Washington University. Prior to private practice, I worked in college counseling center, community mental health, and Veterans Affairs (VA) settings. I completed specialized training in trauma treatment, including within a VA PTSD Clinic, and provided psychological treatment in inpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises and managing more severe and persistent mental illnesses. Additionally, I hold specialized training in couples therapy, specifically Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), as well as psychological assessment. Before my formal clinical training, I spent several years volunteering on a sexual trauma crisis line, an experience that deeply shaped my ability to listen and provide support in a person’s most vulnerable moments.
